"Your skin harbors a variety of bacterial communities that play a central role in protection against harmful pathogens and skin immunity, known as the skin microbiome," says Paula Simpson, holistic beauty nutritionist and biochemist. Simpson has also authored the highly popular books Good Bacteria for Healthy Skin; Nurturing Your Skin Microbiome with Pre- and Probiotics for Clear and Luminous Skin.

Probiotic Diet – Way to Go

As per Dr. Rhonda Klien, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and Partner at Modern Dermatology, Connecticut "Probiotics are microorganisms that are similar to the naturally occurring bacteria in your gut." The good bacteria is not only important for the immune system and digestive system, but they help the body absorb the nutrition. Probiotics aid the body with a variety of health functions ranging from serotonin production to boosting immunity. The more the good bacteria in the body, the better for whole body.
