Here are some interesting ways to use apple cider vinegar for hair and skin care:
à Add to DIY face scrub: The various acids like alpha-hydroxy acids present in the vinegar are brilliant in removing dead skin cells, blackheads and the layer of dirt and pollutants from being outside. To use it as a scrub simply dilute the vinegar with some water in a 2:1 ratio and add some granulated sugar to exfoliate your skin better. Rub it in circular motions and wash with water to get more radiant skin.
à Treat acne and pimples: Apple cider vinegar is
excellent for treating acne. However, do not apply on skin undiluted. Mix 1
part of apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water (use more water if your skin is
sensitive). Clean your face with a mild face cleanser, pat your skin dry and gently
apply the diluted vinegar mix. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Gently splash cold
water on your face, pat dry. You can use your toner and moisturizer as usual.

à Heal sunburn: Apple cider vinegar, due to its acidic nature can balance out our skin’s pH and hence is an excellent remedy for sunburns caused by the sun’s UV rays. Dab some diluted vinegar onto the affected area and wait for the magic to happen. Use sunscreen for sensitive skin if your skin is prone to rashes.
à Treat pigmentation: apple cider vinegar contains another useful acid called Malic acid which is known to reduce Melanin production. This can help with blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and dark patches in the skin. Apply diluted apple cider vinegar to affected areas, wait for 15-20 mins and wash off. Do this on a regular basis and you’ll notice your blemishes fade away. You can also use apple cider vinegar with honey to get soft and supple skin.
à Get rid of that flaky dandruff: Yeast growth in the scalp can cause dandruff, which is also a sign of dryness. Apple cider vinegar can kill the yeast and moisturize the scalp at the same time- reducing the dandruff and dryness. Simply apply some diluted vinegar along the scalp and rub it in before washing.
à Heal scalp infections: along with the alpha-hydroxy acid and its pH balancing properties, apple cider vinegar can disinfect any bacteria/fungi in the scalp, cleansing it completely.
à Makes hair frizzy free: frizzy hair may be caused by a high pH level of the scalp, something that can be easily balanced by the apple cider vinegar. Wet your hands with diluted apple cider vinegar and run your fingers along your hair. Give you hair and scalp a little massage before washing.
