DIY Nourishing Hair Masks For Beautiful, Healthy Hair

Love the beautiful hair you see on TV or magazine covers? Contrary to what they may want you to believe, you don’t get beautiful hair with tons of fancy hair products, it is the outcome of healthy nourishment and care. Especially with exposure to pollution, stress and chemicals, hair tends to lose its luster and tends to become dry, easily breakable, frizzy. If these things bother you too, here are some hair-mask recipes that actually work.


Shea Butter hair mask


This mask is brilliant for dehydrated hair, hair that’s been over exposed to pollution or chemicals. Here’s a quick recipe:


·         Take 1 tablespoon of Shea Butter in double boiler pan to make it soft. When softened, remove it from the heat and add a tablespoon of coconut oil and some honey. You can also choose to add a few drops of essential oil  to add fragrance to the mask. Apply this mixture through the length of your hair and keep it on for 30-50 minutes before washing off with your regular shampoo and conditioner.


You’ll definitely note that your hair feels much more moisturized, silkier and healthy once you use this hair mask.


Cocoa Butter hair mask

This mask is great for reviving damaged hair and hydrating your hair overall. It also promotes growth with a guarantee of softer and less frizzy hair. To make this:


·         Take 1 tablespoon of Cocoa Butter and microwave or heat it in a double boiler till its soft. To this, add some unflavored yogurt and mix these two ingredients. Apply this through your hair and make sure to massage it thoroughly in your scalp. Keep the mask on for about 60 minutes before washing it off with your favorite shampoo.


You are sure to have more tamed and moisturized hair after this wash.

Beeswax hair mask

Beeswax is known for its moisturizing properties, even on the skin; this particular mask is sure to do wonders if your hair feels dry. To whip up this three-ingredient mask:


·         Take 1 ½ tablespoons of Beeswax beads and soften it using double boiler. Add to this some Argan Oil and ½ tablespoon of powdered cinnamon. The Beeswax and Argan oil moisturize and strengthen your hair while the cinnamon aids in scrubbing these ingredients better. Apply this mask throughout your hair and keep it on for 30 minutes before washing thoroughly. Apply your favorite conditioner for better results.
